ecostore Volumising Shampoo & Conditioner

You know when a smell triggers something for you?

Maybe it’s freshly baked bread … blossom trees in spring or maybe its the CK One fragrance that reminds you of your teenage years (as both you and your boyfriend wore it!).

This is what happened when I poured this Shampoo into the palm of my hand.  The absolutely scrummy fragrance of what I thought smelled so much like Bergamot and Orange filled my shower and my senses with complete bliss!

I lathered it up into my hair and I couldn’t help but just keep breathing it in.  So fresh, so woody and gritty and just soooo delicious.  It felt really nice to shampoo with the ecostore Volumising Shampoo and then rinsing it out, my hair felt incredibly clean and lighter than it normally does.

Plant-based with gentle cleansing agents to protect against breakage and replenish fine hair.

Next it was onto the Conditioner and I slathered that onto the ends of my hair (I’m a very generous conditioner putter on-er).

It felt smooth and luxurious and soaked well into my hair.

Plant-based, enriched with Argan and Avacado oils to protect and nourish fine hair.

The real test was then going to be how my hair felt and looked after the shower and when it was dry…

For the first week of using the ecostore products, I didn’t use any extra styling product and just left it to naturally dry.

My hair absolutely felt much-much lighter and had ALOT more body.  My hair only normally has a ‘bit of a wave’ but using this ecostore combo my ‘bit of a wave’ was now quite full sensational curls :-)

Wearing my hair with no product in it was ok too, a tiny bit fly away-ey, but ok.

Throughout the morning sometimes my hair would flick and I could still smell the glorious Bergamot & Orange and I breathed it in deeply again.
I forgot to look at the ingredients list for a few days, but finally did and there it was confirmed, my two favourite scents together Bergamot and Orange in the Shampoo!

You see … I absolutely LOVE the smell of Bergamot & Orange (together) and have done now for over 14 years.  I had huge-huge cravings for the smell when I was pregnant with my daughter 14 years ago and use to dab drops of Bergamot & Orange Oils together on a cotton pad and tuck them down my top.

I have loved them ever since, but don’t come across them very often.

I have used many ecostore products over the years … using the Goats Milk and Lavender Baby Soap on our skin still daily … Auto Dish Powder … Dish Liquid … Laundry Powder … Surface Cleaner … Hand Wash … Hand Lotion … and I just recently included one of their new lip balms in a birthday present for a girlfriend.

No nasty chemicals and being healthier for me is the biggest draw card from the long list of great promises they give you.

The following week, I continued using the ecostore combo and then also used my normal hair smoothing product on my hair afterwards and the result was even better.
When I blow dried my hair, it was definitely not as thin and when using a curling iron it gave me much fuller curls.

Am loving my gorgeous Bergamot & Orange smelling voluminous beautifully smooth hair :-)

* Smells absolutely sensational and lingers throughout the morning on your hair.
* Lathers well and feels great to use.
* Reasonably priced at $10.95 for 220ml.
* Does what it says it does – Volumises the hair.
* Healthier for me and the environment.

* Plant-based, SLS- free, paraben-free shampoo.
* Shampoo has gentle cleansing agents to protect against breakage and replenish fine hair, while building body and shine.

* Plant-based, silicone-free conditioner.
* Conditioner is enriched with Argan and Avocado oils.

* Products not tested on Animals, No Nasty Chemicals and Healthier for you and the environment.

* Website lets you shop online (yeah) and is offering on orders over $60 – free freight.

* The Shampoo and Conditioner look almost identical.
So in the shower with water in your eyes you actually have to pick up each bottle to read which one is which.  Not a deal breaker, but kinda annoying.

* Overall I preferred my hair after using a smoothing product afterwards.
Would love to see ecostore bring out a product like this to work in conjunction with their great Shampoos and Conditioners too.

Would I buy the ecostore Volumising Shampoo and Conditioner myself? – Without a doubt Yes!

(… also want to dab it on as a perfume … but wonder if it rains while I’m out I might start lathering up 😉 as I walk down the street!)

NB: I was given the opportunity to try the ecostore Volumising Shampoo and Conditioner free.

    Thanks for this review. I’ve never used their shampoo before, but I do like their other products. I’ve got really flat hair so I need a volume boost from my shampoo. Will put this on the list for when I next need shampoo.

      Hi Nicola

      You should definitely give it a try, as it did more for my hair than I ever anticipated it would :-)

      Whats your favourite ecostore product?

  3. Kelly says:

    Sounds really nice, haven’t tried their shampoo and conditioners, but I’m tempted to now.

    • Wellington Chic says:

      Thanks Kelly, it is really nice – still being enveloped in the aroma of it every time I use it! :-)
      Have you tried any of ecostore’s products before?
